The right supplement supplier for a pharmacy gives you registration numbers you can check yourself, clear facts on where the product is made and how long it lasts, carton and barcode details ready for your stock system, flexible quantities, delivery that reaches your city, a written quote without a long wait, and product information your team can explain to customers. This article is a practical eight-point checklist for pharmacies, pharmacy chains and distributors in Saudi Arabia choosing a dietary supplement supplier, followed by how Dawaak answers each point, with the figures.

Why does choosing a supplier deserve a checklist?

Supplements are items customers ask about often, read closely, and come back for when they trust what they bought. A poor supplier choice costs more than slow-moving stock; it can cost customer trust. A checklist keeps the comparison objective: the same questions for every supplier, answers in writing, and a decision based on what you can verify.

The list works for an independent pharmacy ordering small quantities, a chain listing an item across branches, and a distributor serving pharmacies in several cities.

The checklist: 8 questions before you choose a supplement supplier

1. Does every item have a registration number you can check?

Ask the supplier for each product’s registration number in writing, then look it up in the SFDA’s List of Notification of Marketing for Food Products (Registered). Open the details and compare the company name, shelf life, storage temperature and weight with the box. We cover the steps in our guide to checking a supplement’s SFDA registration. Watch the wording too: a careful supplier says “registered with the SFDA under number …” and gives you the number.

2. Where is it made, and who owns it?

From the box and the supplier you should know three things: the brand owner, the manufacturer and the country of manufacture. They help you answer customer questions and follow up on any query about a batch. If the product is made in the Kingdom, ask which city; it is usually printed on the box.

3. What is the shelf life, and how is it stored?

Ask for the total shelf life as shown in the register and on the box, and the remaining shelf life you can expect on delivery, and compare it with how fast the item sells for you. Read the printed storage conditions and make sure your store room and shelves can meet them.

4. Are carton and barcode details ready?

Before the item enters your point-of-sale or warehouse system you need the barcode of each box, the number of boxes per carton, the box weight and, where available, its dimensions. An organised supplier sends these in one table before you order, not after the delivery arrives.

5. Can you order the quantity that suits you?

A pharmacy trying a new item needs to start small; a chain needs larger quantities spread across branches. Ask: is there a minimum order? Can you order by the box, or only by the carton? Can several items go in one order?

6. Does delivery reach your city?

Some suppliers cover one city or one region. Ask clearly which regions they deliver to and how, and ask for the lead time to be written into the quote.

7. How long does a quote take, and what is in it?

A written quote protects both sides. Ask for it to include the price, lead time and delivery terms, and note how long the supplier takes to reply: it is a good sign of how they will handle you after the order.

8. Do you get information your team can explain to customers?

Customers ask about ingredients, amounts per serving, directions, warnings and sometimes the capsule shell. A good supplier gives you this information exactly as printed on the box, in Arabic and English, without exaggeration or medical claims. Any health statement in a supplier’s material should match the box wording, such as “contributes to…”.

How does Dawaak answer each point?

Here are our answers to the same list, from the box text, the official register and our wholesale supply page:

Point What you get from Dawaak
1. Registration All four products are registered with the SFDA: Vita One FOP-240226-74229, Cal K FOP-120226-60037, Ferro B FOP-120226-60009, OmeCare FOP-100226-55838. The registration number is not printed on current Dawaak boxes; it is on each product page and at the end of this article, and we send it in writing with the quote. The numbers can be searched in the official list.
2. Manufacturing Made in Saudi Arabia, in Al Kharj Industrial City. The products are owned by Dawaak Commercial Company.
3. Shelf life and storage 24-month shelf life for all four. The box says: “Keep out of sunlight, at a temperature below 25°C, in a cool dry place.”
4. Cartons and barcodes A barcode printed on every box; 63 boxes per carton for Vita One and OmeCare, 100 for Cal K and Ferro B. Details in the table below.
5. Ordering flexibility No minimum order. In the single request form for all four products you choose “By carton” or “By box”, then set the quantity for each product.
6. Delivery Delivery to every region of Saudi Arabia.
7. Quote We contact you within 2 to 24 hours and send you a written quote. The quote includes the price, lead time and delivery terms.
8. Customer information A page for each product with the box text as printed, the nutrition facts panel, the warnings and common questions.

Cal K 30 film-coated tablets 42 g 0721688166740 100

What will your customers find on our product pages?

Each product page carries the text printed on the box and answers the questions that come up at the shelf. For example:

  • Cal K: K is the chemical symbol for potassium; the product contains no vitamin K. The directions read: “For Adults: One Film Coated Tablet daily or as recommended by a Physician.”
  • OmeCare: the capsule shell is bovine gelatin, the flavour is artificial orange, and the box says: “This product contains Fish Oil.”
  • Vita One: the box says “Consult a health care provider / doctor prior to use if you are taking blood thinners.”
  • All four boxes are labelled Men | Women, for adults.

An example of health wording exactly as printed, from the OmeCare box:

On the box · OmeCare

EPA & DHA: “Contribute to maintaining the normal function of the heart.”

Questions to send any supplier before your first order

To turn the checklist into a message for several suppliers, here is a short version you can copy:

  1. What is the registration number of each item?
  2. Who is the manufacturer, and in which country?
  3. What is the total shelf life, and how much should remain on delivery?
  4. What is the barcode of each box, and how many boxes are in a carton?
  5. Is there a minimum order? Can we order by the box?
  6. Do you deliver to our city, and how?
  7. When will we receive a written quote, and will it include the lead time?
  8. Can you share box texts and nutrition panels with our team?

Keep the written answers in the supplier’s file; they are your reference for any later question from your team or a customer.

When does one supplier for several items make sense?

Buying several items from one supplier means fewer orders, invoices and deliveries, and simpler expiry tracking. The Dawaak range has four items, each built around a different main ingredient: multivitamins and minerals in Vita One, minerals with vitamin D3 in Cal K, iron, folic acid and iodine in Ferro B, and omega-3 fish oil in OmeCare. You can request them together in one form, with a separate quantity for each. Behind the brand are three community pharmacies in Riyadh, open since 2020, so we know the questions customers ask at the shelf.

Put Dawaak through the checklist: request a quote

Send the quantities you need for each product from the wholesale supply page, and we contact you within 2 to 24 hours and send you a written quote with price, lead time and delivery terms. There is no minimum order, you can order by the box or by the carton, and we deliver across Saudi Arabia. Questions: info@dawaak.com.
